Compliance & due diligence

Verification is a commercial requirement, not a marketing claim.

SCG applies a risk-aware approach to counterparty, product, origin, authority, documentation, sanctions, and transaction-level diligence. The exact checks required depend on the parties, jurisdictions, commodity, route, payment structure, and risk profile.

KYC / KYB

Know the counterparty

Corporate identity, registration information, trading address, directors or authorised representatives, beneficial ownership, contact details, and commercial purpose may be reviewed before material information is exchanged.

Sanctions / AML

Screen the transaction

Relevant persons, entities, jurisdictions, payment routes, and transaction circumstances may be screened for sanctions, restricted-party, anti-money-laundering, fraud, or other compliance concerns.

Origin / authority

Verify the product pathway

SCG may request evidence of product origin, authority to offer, production or stock claims, export readiness, mine or producer relationship, assay information, and chain-of-custody documents.

Due diligence framework

Checks may include the following.

  • Know Your Customer and Know Your Business procedures.
  • Company-registration and corporate-document verification.
  • Director, authorised representative, and beneficial-ownership checks.
  • Sanctions, restricted-party, and adverse-information screening as appropriate.
  • Mandate, authority-to-sell, authority-to-buy, or authority-to-represent verification.
  • Commodity origin, mine/producer relationship, and product availability verification.
  • Export, import, customs, and trade-document readiness.
  • Independent inspection, sampling, assay, weight, and quantity procedures where agreed.
  • Payment-mechanism, settlement-party, and trade-finance readiness checks where relevant.
  • Confidentiality, non-circumvention, and controlled information sharing.
Responsible sourcing

Commercial opportunity does not override responsible sourcing.

SCG seeks to avoid knowingly facilitating transactions involving unlawful extraction, false origin claims, sanctions evasion, bribery, corruption, forced labour, child labour, serious human-rights abuse, environmental illegality, or other prohibited conduct.

Responsible-sourcing checks should be proportionate to the commodity, origin, jurisdiction, supply chain, available evidence, and specific transaction risk. Specialist legal or compliance advice may be required.

Confidentiality

Protect commercially sensitive information.

Sensitive buyer, supplier, mine, mandate, stockpile, assay, contract, pricing, and transaction records should not be displayed publicly without written authority.

Website publication standard

Use reference numbers for confidential opportunities.

Public opportunity descriptions should avoid unnecessary disclosure of mine names, supplier names, buyer identities, stockpile locations, customer manifests, contracts, or transaction records. Uploaded documents are not intended for public display and are restricted to authorised administrative access.

Regulatory-status clarification
SCG does not represent itself as certified, licensed, or regulated for a particular activity unless that specific status is supported by current documentary evidence.
Transaction parties remain responsible for confirming the licences, approvals, registrations, and regulatory requirements applicable to their own roles and jurisdictions.

Serious counterparties should be prepared to verify their role.

SCG may request additional documentation before disclosing confidential commercial information or progressing a transaction.
